Maree Schwarz and Merv Schwarz are the two victims among three who sadly died at Queensland shooting near Bogie. They resided near Collinsville, northwest of Mackay property, for less than a year.
As Tom Armitt, a Queensland Police Mackay District Superintendent, said, “There was an invitation for them to go there.” The deceased family had received an invitation from a long-term nearby resident to talk about the ongoing dispute.
The officers confirmed the presence of a rifle in a meeting; however, it is yet to verify if the deceased family had a weapon.
The first officers responding to the scene have been honored for their bravery; as Super Armitt mentioned, the victims were in “grave danger.”
Maree and Merv were a farm couple living with their family in a remote area of Australia. The incident occurred at around 9 am in the small mining town of Bogie, North Queensland.
Also, the long-term pair welcomed their grandchild 18 months ago into the family. The investigation is still ongoing on the matter, where a farm family got brutally murdered.

Maree Schwarz and Merv Schwarz died with their son, Graham Tighe, in the scene after getting shot. However, the fourth victim reported as their younger son managed to flee the incident and asked for help.
He had sustained a bullet wound on his body, and the team airlifted him to the McKay Hospital in an emergency. As per the latest report by the officer, he has been undergoing surgery, putting him in the intensive care unit.
All the victims belong to the same farm family, who were near Bogie at the time of the incident. Three lives have been in the tragic incident, and one who survived is getting all the necessary treatment.

The officers have taken a 59-years-old in police custody as an alleged gunman suspect. He is one of the three individuals held by the police.
The arrested person or an alleged shooter is a neighbor who resided in the area for a long term. The criminal charges would further proceed after this matter with a thorough investigation.
For now, the polices officers have suspected the leading cause of the tragedy due to a land dispute. The victim couple chatted with the family the night before the incident day, with both parties agreeing to meet in the morning.
