Patrick Nix Wife Krista Chapman Nix Is A Teacher Turned Nurse

Patrick Nix wife Krista Nix is a former teacher turned nurse. Krista went to Auburn University in Alabama. 

Being a small-town girl, Krista recalls thinking college was a long shot for her. Nevertheless, she went to Auburn University to get her bachelor’s degree, where she met her husband Patrick. 

After graduating from Auburn, Krista entered the field of teaching for a brief period. But, after marrying Patrick just two years after finishing college, she didn’t find time to teach and instead became a full-time wife and mother. The Nix’s firstborn was 24-year-old Emma Grace Davis, who married in 2020. 

After sixteen years of domestic bliss, Krista decided to go back to college, this time to nursing school. After her four-year degree ended, she worked as a full-time nurse briefly. Today, she is maintaining a perfect work-life balance by working part-time in a hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, while also taking care of her family. 

Krista is very thankful for the “crazy life” she has, as she would say it. In an interview podcast with Kristen Eargle of Coach’s Wife Life, Krista says she was raised in a small community and never expected her life to be so grand.

She has moved all across the American South and is surrounded by a crazy football life with five beautiful and successful children. The mother of five often expresses her gratitude and prayers on her Instagram at @kristacnix.

Patrick Nix and Krista Chapman Nix married in July 1996 and have been together for 27 years.

The couple met at Auburn University, where Patrick was a star football quarterback. Patrick had an exceptional college career at Auburn, finishing his sophomore season in 1993 with a perfect 11-0 record. 

Krista was set up on a date with Patrick by her best friend in college. She claims the couple immediately fell for each other after just two weeks of dating. In the interview with Kristen Eargle, she joked that whenever her kids ask if she believes in love at first sight, she replies, “What about love at two weeks?”

Patrick and Krista married on July 2, 1996, just two years after graduating college. While their marriage and parenthood of almost three decades have been steady and nothing short of blissful, their living situation has a different story. 

Patrick’s career as a football coach has ensured that the family has to move homes and sometimes states quite often. The family has moved homes eleven times and cheered for nine teams since their wedding.

“26 years of marriage, 25 years in coaching, 11 homes, 10 moves, 9 different schools to cheer on, 6 kids (counting my SIL), 5 states, quite a few valleys, and some amazing mountain tops and through it all, there is no other man I’d rather do life with! I love you Patrick Nix!” Kristen captioned an anniversary post on July 2, 2021. 

Even as their ages start to climb, Patrick and Krista are very active. The couple is seen enjoying traveling, partying, playing football, and hiking. In 2017, the couple visited Jerusalem and rode on camelbacks. 

Krista is very supportive of her husband and is often seen attending games and cheering on whichever team he coaches. Being a football fan since childhood, she could not have asked for a life partner with a better profession. Now that her kids are growing up to be college-age, she has more people to cheer for. 

Patrick and Krista Nix are proud parents of five children of which two are Bo Nix and Tez Johnson.

Their oldest and the youngest kid are nine years apart. They have two daughters and three sons, of which one is adopted.

Emma Grace Davis 

Emma Grace Davis is the oldest among the Nix siblings. She is 24 years old and celebrates her birthday on February 21.

Just like her dad, she also went to Auburn University. Emma married baseball coach and MBA, JD Davis in 2020, making her the first of the siblings to tie the knot. Patrick and Krista’s daughter and son-in-law haven’t forgotten about their southern roots and currently reside in Louisiana. 

Bo Nix 

Bo Nix is the quarterback for the Oregon Ducks and a rising name in the world of football.

Before playing for the Oregon Ducks, he played quarterback for the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University. This family loves Auburn University! 

The 22-year-old is an excellent quarterback and hopes to draft for the NFL next year. Having married his longtime girlfriend, Izzy Smoke, on July 2 of this year, Bo will surely want to play in the big leagues to give his new family the best possible life. Luckily, his parents and siblings are the most supportive people on earth. 

Tez Johnson

Bo Nix brother Tez Johnson plays the wide receiver position for the Troy Trojans in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl.

The reason why Tez does not have Nix as his surname is that Patrick and Kristen adopted him. But he might as well be a Nix because he is just as athletic and passionate about football as the rest of them.

Patrick, Kristen, and the rest of the Nixes are extremely supportive of 20-year-old Tez Johnson, so we will not be surprised if his football career takes off in the near future. 

Caleb Nix 

Caleb plays safety for the Clemson Tigers of Clemson University. He plays in the same league as his brother Tez Johnson.

Besides football, the 19-year-old also loves baseball. It seems like sports are rooted in the Nix DNA. Caleb’s new college football career is being cheered on by his high school sweetheart, Reagan Turner, and his family of course. 

Sara Nix 

At 15 years old, Sara Nix is the youngest among the Nix siblings. She celebrates her birthday on September 21. 

Understandably, information on Sara is made private by Patrick and Krista. However, she does sometimes pop up on her mom’s Instagram posts, usually seen cheering on her dad’s or her brother’s teams. 

Patrick and Krista have done a phenomenal job at raising their kids. Raising five children and chiseling them into great athletes, good Christians, and overall wonderful human beings while having to move 11 times in 26 years seems like a Herculean task for most, so kudos to Patrick and Krista Nix for being able to do all that.
