Patty Gasso has been part of the Oklahoma Sooners as head coach since 1915. In 28 years at Oklahoma, the veteran coach has a record of 1,384–342–2 and a winning percentage of.802.Her teams have made fourteen appearances in the Women’s College World Series and have won the national championship five times.

The University of Oklahoma earned its third Big 12 Conference championship in five years in 1999. The eldest son of Paty and Jim is in his seventh season as an assistant coach for the Oklahoma Sooners. His main responsibilities include working with the Sooners’ outfielders and the offense. He led the Sooners to a national-leading 532 slugging percentage in 2018. In 2019, he crafted one of the nation’s most potent offenses with the Sooners, leading the country in batting average (.344), home runs per game (1.83), and slugging percentage (.639).

Her younger son is also the team’s hitting coach and is in his second season on the Utah staff in 2022. He joins the staff in June 2020 after working as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma for the past two seasons.

In his two seasons on the staff, the Sooners finished as national runners-up in 2019. In his debut season with the Utah program in 2021, he made an immediate impression. During his tenure as coach, the Utes hit 46 home runs, the most since 2017.
