The 69-year-old Filmfare Award Winner was found dead in his residence in Chennai on Friday. Initial police reports indicate that Pothan’s death is due to natural cause, and there are no elements of murder.
Since his debut in 1978 with the Malayalam movie Aaravam, Pothan has worked in more than a hundred films in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil, as well as Hindi. He has won the prestigious Filmfare award three times in his career.

Prathap Pothan First Wife, Raadhika Sarathkuma
Prathap Pothan was married to Chennai-born Indian actress Raadhika Sarathkumar in 1985.
Malayali actor-cum-director Pothan and Raadhika have no children from their brief marriage spell. But they immediately went on a separate path a year after marriage.
‘Meendum Oru Kaathal Kathai,’ directed by Pratap Pothen and winner of the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director, was produced by the renowned actress. While they were working on the 1985 movie in which they both had supporting roles, they fell in love.
Born on August 21, 1963, Raadhika is a versatile Indian actress, producer, and entrepreneur. Raadhika mainly works in Tamil cinema, Telugu, and a few Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada films.

Besides, she is the daughter of Geetha and M. R. Radha, a deceased Tamil actor and comedian from Tamilnadu. Raadhika had her schooling in the UK, Sri Lanka, and India. She has two younger brothers, Raju and Mohan, and a younger sister named Nirosha, who works as an actress. Radha Ravi, her older half-brother, is also her.
Following her fame as an actress, she launched her own production company, Radaan TV, in 1994. After some setbacks, her firm was renamed Radaan Mediaworks India Ltd in 1999 and became one of the premier production houses.
Moreover, in 2006, Raadhika ventured into politics. She joined the AIADMK alongside her spouse R. Sarathkumar before the 2006 Assembly elections. But she was canned from the AIADMK on October 18, 2006, for anti-party conduct. And since 2007, she has served as the deputy general secretary of the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi.

The 58-year-old Dharma Devathai star Raadhika married a British national, Richard Hardy, the father of Rayanne Hardy.
In 1990, the couple wedded in London, England, and Raadhika settled there with him. They had a daughter Rayanne on August 22, 1992, just a few months before their divorce.

On August 28, 2016, Rayanne wed cricketer Abhimanyu Mithun in a customary ceremony in Chennai. Abhimanyu has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in the IPL, in addition to representing Karnataka in first-class cricket.

Rahul Sarathkumar is the son of Raadhika and her third husband, Ramanathan Sarathkumar. He was born in June 2004 in India and is currently 18 years old.

After getting divorced from Richard, Raadhika came back to India. She fell in love with an Indian actor and politician, Sarathkumar Ramanathan, on February 4, 2001. They were friends before being married, and they appeared together in two movies, Namma Annachi and Suryavamsam.
