On September 21, 1955, Rebecca Balding was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. Balding studied at Kansas University. On Soap, the gifted actor played Carol David, the mother of Jodie Dallas’ child, in 19 episodes from 1978 to 1980.

She becomes pregnant after their one-night stand. Later, after convincing Jodie to move in together, she confesses that she is pregnant with his child. She agrees to his proposal so that he can fulfill his fatherly duty, but she doesn’t show up.
Later, Carol gave birth to a daughter and engaged in a custody battle, which Jodie ultimately won. Later, Carol stole the infant, but Jodie got her back, and Balding’s role vanished.
