The nostalgic Belye Rozi (‘White Roses’) and Sedaya Noch (‘Grey Night’) are two of their most popular songs. Shatunov started a solo career after Laskovy Mai broke up in 1992, but it never took off to the same extent.

Yuri Shatunov died at the age of 48 years old. Shatunov was born on September 6, 1973, in the independent Republic of Bashkortostan of the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (USSR).

His mother raised him after his father abandoned him when he was three. He moved in with his aunt and maternal grandparents when his mother died from heart illness.

When he was eleven, they quickly found themselves unable to handle his conduct. 

Shatunov was sent to Orenburg Children’s Home Number 2 in Orenburg, where he had a history of misbehavior, including running away from the orphanage.
