Who Is Tex Mciver? Details About The Former Lawyer Who Was Convicted For Murder

Tex worked as a partner at a well-known labor and employment law firm and was a member of the state election commission.

He also worked for 43 years as president of U.S. Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of Corey Airport Services.

McIver’s attorneys claim that during the last murder trial, a Fulton County judge made mistakes, necessitating a second trial in January 2022.

McIver’s attorney, Don Samuel, contended that the jury should have been given the option of convicting McIver of lesser offenses such as criminal negligence.

According to Samuel, the Fulton County superior court judge, the jurors should not have been permitted to ride in the McIver SUV. He claims that the state introduced systemic racism into the case.

Tex McIver is a 74-year-old man. He was born on the date of May 12, 1947.

McIver is serving a life sentence after being found guilty of felony murder and other offenses in the 2016 shooting death of his wife.

The judge’s decision to grant McIver parole leaves him with little hope. Before being eligible for release, he would have to serve 30 years in prison.

Tex met his wife in the year 2000 after they had both divorced from their previous marriages.

He gave his second wife a $60,000 engagement ring, and they married on Tex’s 86-acre Putnam County ranch in what can only be described as a fairytale wedding.

They also have a second mansion in Buckhead. Diane was well-liked and respected in the community.

The official authorities have kept all of his family’s details disguised, including his parents’ names. It’s also unclear whether or not the couple had any children together.

An Atlanta lawyer, Tex McIver, was arrested for the murder of his 64-year-old wife, Diane McIver. However, he claims it was an accident. Prosecutors think McIver killed his wife for money.

The state pleaded with the jury in 2018 to find McIver guilty of all charges, including murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and felony possession of a weapon.

He was also accused of persuading Dani Jo Carter, a witness in the car at the time of the event, to testify.

According to CBS News, Tex, Diane, and their companion Dani was returning from Tex’s horse property on September 25, 2016.

Carter, who was driving, exited the highway in downtown Atlanta due to severe traffic on the expressway.

McIver told his wife in the front passenger seat to hand him a rifle from the center console. He voiced his displeasure with the location from which they departed.

They were all taken aback when they heard McIver fire the weapon again a few moments later, this time striking his wife in the back. Diane died as a result of her injuries, which Carter drove her to the hospital.
