McAreavey, a 27-year-old woman, got killed in Mauritius in the January of 2011, while she has on her honeymoon. It was supposed to be the first murder of tourists on Mauritius Island.

The incident sparked a huge debate back then and got international media coverage. Unfortunately, the murder case is yet to be solved. The two workers who were initially accused of the murder were declared not guilty by the Supreme Court of Mauritius.

As reported by BBC UK, the Orange Order has launched an inquiry regarding the viral video. The Order has described the video as utterly abhorrent. 

However, the Police is yet to found identify the location where the footage was captured. The footage features a room decorated with union flags and Orange Order paintings.

People on social media want strong punishment for those people. Regarding the video, MP Jeffrey Donaldson wrote, “This is vile. It is plain wrong and is deeply hurtful to the family of Michaela McAreavey.”

Michaela McAreavey Family Details

Michaela McAreavey was born and raised in a Catholic family in Bawlygalley, Country Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

The Irish lady was born on 31 December 1983 and was 27 years of age at the time of her death. Her father, Mickey Harte, is a Gaelic football manager from County Tyrone,  who currently manages the Louth County team.

Similarly, her mother, Marian, was also a teacher. She grew up with her three siblings. Her death shattered the Harte family, and they lost other two members of the family after her murder.

The Bawlygalley native was an Irish language teacher and taught Irish and Religion at St Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon. In addition, she was a Pioneer and seen to be quite religious.

Michaela McAreavey was married to her husband, John McAreavery.

John currently works as an accountant and is a former Irish sportsperson. The couple tied the knot in Michael’s home village of Ballygawley, County Tyrone, on 30 December 2010.
