Carvalho revealed in an interview that he fears for his life once his ex-wife will be out of jail. He fears that Valerie will once again try to kill her to take her revenge.
In an interview with Inside Edition, he expressed his fear for his ex-wife and said,” I look over my shoulder constantly. Not a day goes by I’m not afraid for my life.
He further added,” I thought I was marrying someone who swore to protect and serve, a cop. Instead, I got a crazed lunatic. Carvalho was shocked and surprised after finding out that his wife and mother of his son, were planning to end his life.

His wife, Valerie tasked her boyfriend to hire a hitman to kill Carvalho. However, her boyfriend, John Dirubba turned on Cincinelli after he learned that she was also planning to murder his 13-year-old daughter.
After that, DiRubba reported the case to the police, and Cincinelli got arrested in the May of 2019. Initially, she was charged with murder-for-hire, which could have put her in prison for 40 years.
However, the former NYPD officer was later found of guilty to obstruction of justice and sentenced to 4 years in federal prison.
