Jacqueline Durand, a 22-year-old student, went to the home of Dr. Justin Bishop and his wife Ashley after being hired to dog sit. Jacqueline was attacked in December by two rescue dogs. Durand was attacked by a German Shepherd and a Pitbull, and she almost passed away from her injuries.
Her lips, nose, ears, and the majority of her face below her eyes were all torn off and destroyed by the dogs. Durand required seven hours of surgery to save her life and was in a coma, but after spending seven weeks in the hospital, she is finally at home and ready to come out.
After being attacked by Dr. Justin and Ashley Bishop’s dogs, Jacqueline Durand filed a complaint against them, alleging that the attack left her “permanently and tragically disfigured.”

On December 23, two of the dogs belonging to owners Justin and Ashley Bishop attacked Jacqueline Durand. Durand underwent a 7-hour life-saving operation after being taken to Medical City Plano as a result of the attack.

Following a vicious dog attack in December of last year, Jacqueline Durand has continued to be treated in a hospital for almost a month. She’s already had a number of reconstructive operations.
She had numerous treatments, including skin grafts from her buttocks and forehead to reconstruct her face, before being finally discharged from the hospital to cheer from her physicians and nurses.
Durand also experienced a nice welcome from family members and law enforcement when she got home. She admitted that despite the awful situation she went through, she prefers to be viewed as an example rather than a victim.
Durand, who had previously spent seven weeks in the hospital, made the decision to show her face, declaring, “It’s time.” She said, “I feel like I didn’t ask for this.” So, I don’t think I can be afraid to show who I am now. I think it’s time.

Dr. Justin Bishop Dog Attack Reddit Discussion
Jacqueline Durand, 22, was attacked by two dogs that Ashley Jo Bishop and Justin Avery Bishop had hired her to walk on December 23, 2021.
The dogs, Lucy, a German shepherd mix, and Bender, a pit bull, attacked Durand as soon as she opened the door to the house, according to the lawsuit. The news went viral, and Reddit users have been talking about it there as well.
The Bishops called a neighbor after learning that their front door was open, and the neighbor requested that police be dispatched to the area.
The complaint said that Durand, a college student, had extensive experience as a dog walker and dog caregiver. Jacqueline Durand adores dogs, according to the lawsuit.
In order to supplement her income while enrolled full-time at the University of Texas at Dallas, she began working as a dog walker and caretaker. But Jacqueline had no idea how much her love for pets would cost her.

The 22-year-old Jacqueline Durand has had 16 surgeries since two dogs bit her in December. She was “permanently and tragically disfigured” as a result of the incident, the lawsuit claims.

Durand had her nose, ears, lips, and cheeks torn off during the attack by the “bloodthirsty” creatures, according to a lawsuit filed in January.
The student also lost approximately 30 percent of her blood in the life-altering attack, required numerous resuscitations, and was placed in a medically induced coma for a week. Durand is asking for a jury trial and more than $1 million in damages.
She only escaped the terror because the Bishops’ house’s security system went off when the front door was left open during the attack. Investigators were informed by the couple that they had no issues with the dogs and that they had obtained them from rescue organizations.
Durand stated that she intends to continue working with animals, perhaps as a dog trainer, but that she still has more surgeries and a long recuperation ahead of her.
