Kemberlee contacted 911 on May 31, 2011, claiming her spouse had been harmed. When the police arrived, they discovered Pad suffering from a chest wound. The 42-year-old, still conscious at the time, informed emergency personnel that he had unintentionally tripped over a tree branch. Then it was found that whatever had penetrated Pad’s skin had also ruptured his heart, having passed through two of his ribs.
Kemberlee told the investigators that she was asleep when her husband left for work. She was shocked to see bleeding Pad unexpectedly in the kitchen begging for assistance. The cops also believed there was more they hadn’t discovered because they couldn’t locate the branch or anything else that stabbed Pad. The investigation later revealed that Pad and Kemberlee’s relationship was unstable.
The police heard the 911 call on May 31, 2011, which was a significant advance in the case. They were particularly interested in what Kemberlee said before the dispatcher responded. She said her husband told police that he fell from the tree and was pierced by a branch in that process.
