Dawnita Wilkerson missing since June 21, 2020, on Father’s Day weekend. She was last seen on June 21, 2020, at 8:16 p.m., at a nearby Evansville, Indiana, motel getting into a silver/pewter-colored 2004 Chevy Suburban. 

The Evansville Police Department declined to comment when the Courier & Press inquired about the family’s complaints.

Wilkerson sent screenshots of conversations from the ex-boyfriend calling Wilkerson terrible names and threatening her safety and the safety of Wilkerson’s children, according to a close friend who asked not to be identified due to safety concerns.

Who Is Dawnita Wilkerson? 

Dawnita Wilkerson is a mother of six children, who is missing for two years. She was born on March 14, 1976, in Evansville, Indiana. 

Her height and weight at the time of her disappearance were around 5 feet and 3 inches and 145 pounds, respectively. At that time, her hair was curly and waist-length, and she had black hair and brown eyes.

She is black and is of black ethnicity and has multiple multiple tattoos, including a heart on her back, praying hands with the name “Timmy” on her upper-right shoulder, and a cross on her upper-left shoulder.

She told that she would be right back but never returned. Her phone was turned off the next morning, and her family became worried when she didn’t call her mother or twins as she regularly did.

Missing Case Update On Dawnita Wilkerson

Dawnita Wilkerson was reported missing at the age of 44. The 46-year-old woman was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, and white sandals at the time of her disappearance.

Her parents have posted about her disappearance on several websites and social media platforms, but she has yet to be found.

Dawnita and a Chevy Suburban were seen in a surveillance photo provided by police. They claim that this is her last photograph.

According to the investigators, the vehicle eventually crossed into Southern Illinois. During a press conference in February, EPD Detective Jeff Hands said authorities had identified the vehicle’s owner, but the person refused to cooperate with investigators.

They voiced their dissatisfaction with the fact that this information is only now being made public and requested prayers.

“We’ve known about this information since July, so I’m confused why it’s being released now,” Dawnita’s daughter Kiahnna Wilkerson said. “I’m grateful for that. Many people will recognize the man in the photo, but we’re only searching for the vehicle right now.”

Dawnita Wilkerson’s information has been widely disseminated on social media by friends, families, and even authorities.

Meanwhile, the lost woman’s family and friends have spent 15 months doing everything they can to locate their loved one. They’ve distributed flyers, rented billboard space, and set up a $3,500 reward for anyone who can help find Dawnita.

According to Cardin, they are also looking for donations to a GoFundMe to assist fund the search and raising Wilkerson’s two youngest daughters, twin girls who are about to turn 18 years old.

The lost woman shared the names of two guys to family and friends in the days preceding her disappearance.

The men, one of whom she dated on and off for years, allegedly sent her threatening messages, according to her family. The identities aren’t being published since they haven’t been charged or identified as suspects in her disappearance.

Nora Martin, the missing woman’s aunt, recounted texts to her niece that included, “‘I’m going to get you,’ ‘I’ll kill you and they’ll never find your body,’ and things like that.”

According to her family member, she has an on-again-off-again boyfriend who had not only made threats but had previously been violent toward her on more than one occasion and had even been in jail for domestic violence against her.
