Why Was Amy Word From Evansville Arrested? Controlled Substance Charges

Amy Word from Evansville was arrested for substance abuse. 

The EVSC board member is also the owner of Amy’s, a famous bar and restaurant in the locality. According to our sources, police officers went to her bar twice this morning, and the arrest was made in the early morning. 

Moreover, Word is currently held in Vanderburgh County Jail. Per the prison records, her charge is “controlled substance-common nuisance-maintaining.”

An esteemed figure in Evansville, she is also the board member of Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. She has often spoken for quality education, among many other things. 

But her arrest shocked the whole community as her reputation wasn’t likewise. She won the school board elections by a huge margin of 5000 votes in 2020.

Amy Word is a restaurateur and businesswoman based in Evansville. 

She has owned Lamasco Bar and Grill at W. Franklin St. since 2009. Also, she opened a high-end bar and restaurant, Amy’s, in 2019, which has also garnered tremendous success. 

Moreover, Word has also expressed her desire to run for the mayor’s office in the upcoming mayoral elections. She gave an interview with Courier And Press about her wish to serve the people of Evansville. 

“My reason for seeking public office was to always serve where I was most needed and to use my talents where I could be of best use for the people of the community,” she said, “Any decisions made regarding future positions will always have this as the primary focus.”

Amy Word is currently 42 years old. 

However, the restaurateur hasn’t revealed anything about her husband or children until now. She prefers to keep her personal life within herself and does so for good reasons.
