Who Is Katie Sullivan? Meet Zemgus Girgensons Wife
Katie Sullivan, the wife of Zemgus Girgensons, is the mother of their two kids. Sullivan is the former cheerleader of the football team of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Panthers.
Katie met the love of her life, Zemgus, in June 2012 during his NHL draft in Pennsylvania. Six months later, after they first met, the young couple were head over heels for each other and had started dating.

In an interview with Buffalo News in 2015, Zemgus admitted the fact that he watched the Pittsburgh Panthers game solely to catch a 10 seconds glimpse of his then-girlfriend, who would be on her cheerleading duties.
In the same interview, Katie said that though Zemgus looks all about business on the rink, outside of it, he is like any other guy in his 20s and likes doing normal things.
She even complimented her future husband then, saying he was down to earth and nobody would know he was a big hockey player if you hung out with him.

Zemgus Girgensons popped the big question to Katie on June 27, 2018, after six years of dating. And it was a big yes from Katie, who flaunted her diamond ring on her Instagram handle, posing alongside her fiance.

1. Hadlee Mara Girgensons
Hadlee Mara Girgenson, age 1, was born on January 25, 2021. Zemgus shared the exciting news of becoming a father for the first time on his Instagram handle on August 14, 2020.
The Buffalo Sabres player shared the ultrasound picture of Hadlee with his wife by his side. The photo was later shared by Katie as well on her handle. And since the birth of his daughter a year ago, Zemgus doesn’t seem to get over the fact that he has become a father, as he shares tons of pictures of Hadlee to date.

The Girgensons took a family trip to Malibu, California, on August 8, 2022, with Katie sharing a beautiful family photo with the caption, “Malibu babies. So grateful for this family time & vacation.”

Like his son, Aldis was a hockey player, but his career was cut short after he suffered a knee injury. Aldis played defense for the hockey team Dinamo Riga and is the general manager of East Hokkaido Cranes of the Asia League.
Aldis knew that if he wanted his son to become a big named hockey player, he needed to learn to let him go, as the opportunity in Latvia was limited. So at age 12, Aldis let his son Zemgus travel to Germany so he could experience another culture and learn to cope.
Zemgus’ grandmother passed away just a day before his draft in 2012, but Mara certainly would have been proud of her only grandson and his achievements.

Zemgus Girgensons is in the final year of his contract. The Buffalo Sabres player committed to the team as he signed a three-year deal in 2020 with a contract worth $6.6 million.
