Adam Schefter daughter Dylan Schefter is a teen NFL correspondent at Nickelodeon. Dylan is fourteen years old.

The American sports writer and television analyst is one of the most popular and trusted sports journalists in the NFL. He has been the NFL insider for ESPN since 2009. His 14-year-old child Dylan Schefter is following in his footsteps and is an NFL insider for Nickelodeon.

The aspiring University of Michigan graduate has interviewed NFL giants like Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. Tagging along with her dad, Dylan has been around the American football scene since 2017 when she was just 8.

What started as a fun idea has now turned into a part-time career and a stepping stone for Dylan’s future aspirations of becoming an interviewer.

Adam Schefter daughter Dylan Schefter is in the second season of NFL Slimetime as the teen correspondent.

On September 10, 2021, Nickelodeon and CBS Sports announced a new weekly NFL show called NFL Slimetime. For its hosts, the producers landed on former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Nate Burleson, Dylan Gilmer of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, and Dylan Schefter.

Dylan has expressed her passion for interviewing athletes since when she first got the chance in 2017. “Everyone’s just so supportive and so kind, and it just pushes me over — and it makes me want to do everything,” she said about working in NFL Slimetime.

On Boxing day 2022, Dylan reported her first-ever NFL game from the sidelines. She got to meet some of the broadcasters and reporters whom she idolized after the game in which the Rams beat the Broncos 51 to 14.

“The love from the cast and crew is insane and I can’t wait to keep working with everyone at the network!!” she expressed her gratitude in an Instagram post at @dylanschefter.

Before working for Nickelodeon, she was briefly a correspondent for the New York Jets in 2019 and had her own Fox Sports weekly segment in 2020 called “Dylan’s Sweet Corner”. After her first interviewing experience in the 2017 ESPYs (the “Excellence in Sports Performance” yearly awards show), she was asked in an ESPN segment who she wanted to interview next, to which she answered Lebron James and JoJo Siwa.

While she hasn’t had the opportunity to interview the Akron Hammer yet, she did make her breakthrough in the NBA world by interviewing Steph Curry when she returned to the ESPYs in 2018.

Dylan’s passion for interviewing athletes and reporting sports is not surprising. She is the child of one of the most famous NFL analysts and sports writers after all. Even then, Dylan seems way ahead of the curve and is definitely on the path to becoming one of the greats in the sports reporting genre.

Dylan Schefter Age

Dylan Schefter is fourteen years old and celebrates her birthday on October 3. Dylan is the second child of her mother.

Dylan was born on October 3, 2008, to her parents Adam Schefter and Sharri Maio. Sharri married Adam in 2007 and brought with her 22-year-old Devon Maio, her son, with her late husband Joe Maio. Adam adopted Devon as his son for his respect towards Sharri and Joe, who was killed in the World Trade Center 9/11 attacks.

In 2018, Adam released a book titled “The Man I Never Met” about Sharri’s first husband and his side of the story of helping his wife move on and grow from Joe’s tragic passing. An excerpt from the book reads, “This is a story about loss and comfort, about pain and beauty. It is about the steps we take because we want to, and the steps we take because we have no choice.”

Dylan’s older brother Devon seems to be doing good for himself. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2022 with a degree in economics. According to his LinkedIn, Devon has had enough job experience and is ready for adulthood.

Speaking of the University of Michigan, Dylan has expressed multiple times that that is the school she wants to get into to pursue higher education. She even describes herself as an “Aspiring UMich Graduate” on her Instagram bio.

The reason behind her fandom of the public research university is probably its notable alumni – her dad and Tom Brady. After interviewing some of the New England Patriots in 2017, Dylan mentioned that her favorite was Tom Brady, which is not surprising, given he is everybody’s favorite.

“We have a lot of things in common to think about it. He likes avocado ice cream, I like avocados. He went to Michigan, I’m going to Michigan”, she said. Even at eight years old, her humor was on par with her dad.

On November 8, 2020, just days after the polls had been announced, Dylan received an unexpected call from the 46th US President, Joe Biden. “You got to be very patient with daddies, they are very hard to raise,” he joked.

The father-daughter banter between Dylan and Adam indicates her fine upbringing and the healthy relationship between them. In a video of Dylan competing in a hurdle race where she failed a jump and landed face-first on the ground, she captioned, “Clearly I have my dad’s athletic skills.”

When we look at celebrity kids with promising careers, it is easy to dismiss them for having the unfair advantage of being exposed to the industry much easier and earlier. While that is not untrue, in the case of Dylan Schafter, that is not the whole story. Her charisma, humor, and communication skills will give her an edge over her future competition.
