Anna Meares Husband Mark Chadwick And Family Facts On Her Baby Daughter

Anna Meares married her childhood sweetheart Mark Chadwick in 2006; however, the pair chose to live separately in 2015.

Anna and Mark were each other’s rock, but they didn’t have the fairy tale ending they dreamt of when they were together; things didn’t work out for the couple.

Meares and Chadwick spent almost a decade together as a married couple, got attached, helped each other grow, and stood firm until they decided to split.

It wasn’t an easy decision as both were in love, but the circumstances called for it. They have kept the reason that broke their bond inside closed doors and away from the public eye, valuing one another’s privacy.

Anna walked down the aisle and exchanged wedding vows with Mark in Dr. Ray Wilson Park in 2006, promising to spend her forever with her partner. Martin Barras and fellow cyclists Ryan Bayley and Sean Eadie, among other guests, attended her big day.

However, the pair called off their marriage after nine years of togetherness, which broke the retired cyclist’s heart. She was shocked, devastated, and in an emotional mess that she even thought of giving up her sports career.

She further shared that getting back on track was more challenging than overcoming her mental challenges in 2012 and recovering from breaking her neck in 2008. However, the unconditional love that the athlete received from her friends, family, and coach kept her going and re-focus on her goals.

Anna Meares tied the knot with her second husband, Nick Flyer, on March 26, 2022.

Meares suffered a lot after her split with her ex-husband; she didn’t enjoy riding and lost her self-belief and confidence.

It took her a long time to move on, and on her journey to healing, she found a new partner, cycling sprint coach Nick Flyger; they have been dating since 2017.

The former athlete shared a beautiful picture of her in bridal attire with the cycling sprint coach as a groom along with their children. 

Born in Greymouth, Nick grew up in Nelson and attended the University of Otago, where he also lectured in physical education before heading overseas. He earned his Ph.D. from Victoria University.

Furthermore, Flyger, who has been serving as Australia’s Senior Track Sprint Coach for over four years, got appointed as the new Lead Sprint Coach by Cycling New Zealand in early 2022. He made it to the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Anna shares her baby daughter with Nick Flyger; the pair welcomed their first child Evelyn Bette Meares Flyger, in 2020.

Evelyn is the best thing that ever happened to the retired cyclist after everything she suffered in the past few years, and being a mother was her best achievement.

The baby girl became the new light, and her arrival was better than any medal or title she had ever won. The mini Flyhger is two years old and celebrates her birthday on the 10th of February every year.

The former athlete adores her little one and has shared many cute pictures of her on social media; she goes by the handle @annameares. Moreover, Meares recently shared a sweet conversation with her daughter when her 2-year-old asked her if she could play basketball, and she said yes.

Meares became a mother for the second time in 2021 after she and her partner got blessed with an adorable baby boy.

Anna shared her happiness and excitement about safely delivering William (Bill) Cossey Meares Flyger through an Instagram post on the 16th of October 2021.

Baby Bill turned one on the 15th of October 2022, and his mom, dad, and sister are obsessed with him. Furthermore, William and Evelyn have a companion, their pet, 16 years old Bruce. The three are growing together, making memories, and their mom captures everything in photographs so that they can cherish it forever.
