Nix played at Pinson Valley for the previous three seasons, helping the Indians to a 38-4 record. Nix also led them to Class 6A state wins in 2017 and 2018 while his quarterback son was on the team.

Patrick spent 16 years coaching at the collegiate level before moving into the high school coaching ranks. At Jacksonville State, Samford, Georgia Tech, Miami, and Charleston Southern, he worked as an assistant. From 1999 to 2000, he served as the institution’s head coach for two seasons at Henderson State.

Nix is also fortunate to have three siblings. His brother Bo Nix is also a football player, and he has two sisters, Sara Nix and Emma Grace Davis.
