Charlie Dimmock is an English gardening expert and TV presenter who is more popular because of her weight gain rather than her work as a professional gardener.

Many people criticize her for putting on so much weight, while others respect her choice. After all, it’s her body she can do anything she wants with it. She was a part of the crew for the BBC gardening makeover show Ground Force, which ran from 1997 to 2005.

Charlie Dimmock has opened up about her weight gain and expressed that she doesn’t care about being the slim lady she used to be back in the day. She said that life is too short to worry about weight gain problems.

She returned to the television world with a new series called Garden Rescue in 2016. Garden Rescue has reached its 7th season, and its new episodes are being made available to the public on BBC One.

She worked on the Ground Force crew for the BBC’s gardening makeover show, which ran from 1997 to 2005. Since then, Dimmock has hosted various TV programs in the US and the UK, including The Joy of Gardening, Charlie’s Garden Army, and most recently, Garden Rescue.

English Gardener Weight Gain Reasons: Why Is She So Fat?

Charlie Dimmock is not ashamed of being fat. She didn’t mention any proper reason to be like this, but she said that life is too short to worry about being fat. She enjoys life without being bothered by her weight or other things.

She studied horticulture at the Chelsea Physic Garden before becoming a full-time television broadcaster. She earned her dream job working with Tommy Walsh and Alan Titchmarsh on the BBC’s wildly successful makeover program.

Dimmock had a passion for gardening from a young age. As a youngster, she loved playing in the backyard, gravitating toward the family pond, and helping her grandfather maintain his vegetable garden. She took horticultural classes at the junior high school throughout the spring and summer. In his teenage years, Dimmock worked on the weekends and during holidays at a nearby garden center in Romsey called Mill Water Gardens.

Charlie Dimmock’s Career As A Professional Gardener

Five years after initially meeting the producer/director of the program, Dimmock first gained public prominence when she joined the BBC gardening series Ground Force in 1997. Then, in August 2002, Dimmock had a brief cameo as herself in the British serial series Hollyoaks, as a distinguished visitor invited by Gordon Cunningham to dedicate the Jubilee Gardens.

She hosted a local ITV Meridian series called River Walks in the mid-2000s after Ground Force had discontinued production. In this series, she strolled beside numerous rivers in Southern England, seeing sites and attractions along the route and getting to know people who live and work on the rivers.

During her tenure as president of the Television and Radio Industries Club from 2003–2004, Dimmock oversaw the organization’s annual awards event. She began working as a gardening expert in 2011 when she joined the panel of experts on ITV’s Daybreak breakfast magazine show. She hosted a segment of The Great British Garden Revival in 2013.

In July 2016, Dimmock joined the team presenting Garden Rescue, a program about garden makeovers created by Spun Gold TV for the BBC. It is still running and has reached its 7th season in 2022.
