Cleveland Abduction, which was the first broadcast as a made-for-television film in 2015, has recently found a new audience on Netflix and has been disturbing new viewers.

Michelle Knight was the first of three victims imprisoned by Ariel Castro in his house in Cleveland, Ohio in the early 2000s, according to the film.

Michelle, played by Taryn Manning, vanished on August 23, 2002, after leaving a cousin’s residence.

Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Georgina ‘Gina’ DeJesus were taken and held captive by Ariel Castro in the early 2000s, and the true-crime series relates their story.

The criminal drama, which stars Taryn Manning, Raymond Cruz, and Joe Morton and is based on Michelle Knight’s memoir Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed, is based on the Ariel Castro kidnappings.

While the overall scenario of the three girls’ kidnapping is unsettling, to say the least, viewers were particularly moved by Michelle’s situation.

Viewers learned that when Taryn Manning’s character, Michelle, was kidnapped in 2002, she was scarcely checked before she managed to flee.

Taryn, who has starred in shows such as Orange Is the New Black, claimed she was “nervous” before taking on the major role in 2015.

Who Are Ariel Castro In Cleveland Abduction Victims?

Ariel Castro, a resident of 2207 Seymour Avenue, kidnapped three ladies by offering them a ride, bringing them inside, and holding them captive in his basement. Castro was 52 years old when he was apprehended.

Michelle Knight, the first victim, was kidnapped on August 23, 2002, while Amanda Marie Berry, the second victim, went missing on April 21, 2003, the day before her 17th birthday. Georgina Lynn DeJesus, 14, was Castro’s third victim, who vanished on April 2, 2004.

Castro mistreated all of these women physically, mentally, and sexually while confining them in sealed rooms. Knight admitted to the police that she had a daughter in 2006.

Berry was able to warn Castro’s neighbors in 2013, which allowed her to flee and inform the police. Then Castro was apprehended and charged with receiving a life sentence. Castro committed suicide in his prison cell within a month.

Ariel Castro In Cleveland Abduction Jail Time Revealed

Castro was taken into custody on May 6, 2013. On May 8, he was charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape, all of which carry ten-year to life penalties in Ohio.

On the evening of September 3, 2013, Castro was discovered hanging from a bedsheet in his holding cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, one month into his life sentence.

At the time of his death, Castro was 53 years old. Ariel was brought to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, where he has pronounced dead shortly after. Prison employees performed CPR on Ariel before he was taken there.
