Darts: What Happened To Simon Whitlock Hair? Fake Hair Extensions, Illness Update

The hair of Simon Whitlock became the focus of attention once more as he took his win on day one of the Ladbrokes Masters in Milton Keynes on January 29.

The Wizard eliminated Peter Wright, the newly crowned world champion, from the Masters early in the tournament. Simon Whitlock crowed with delight as he defeated Peter in the second round.

He has only made it to the quarter-finals of the Masters twice.

Whitlock was a late call-up to the tournament, replacing Danny Noppert, who backed out on January 10.

Darts: What Happened To Simon Whitlock Hair? Does He Have Fake Hair Extensions?

Given Simon Whitlock’s hair length, one would expect him to have more than a few hair extensions. However, because no one has asked him about the authenticity of his hair during his interviews, we may never know.

If you’ve ever seen Simon Whitlock live on TV, you’ll understand why he’s been dubbed “The Wizard.”

Whether he’s a magician or not, the Australian professional darts player certainly looks the part. Simon only needs a robe and a wand to complete his plaited mullet hairstyle and trademark goatee.

His unforgettable and one-of-a-kind appearance has undoubtedly earned him a slew of fans over the years. Whitlock has been growing out his beard and mustache for more than a decade to add weight to the nickname bestowed upon him by his adoring fans.

Simon is never seen without his waist-length hair pulled back into a ponytail, which adds to the overall effect of his appearance. He needs more than one black elastic band to keep his hair out of his face.

Before leaving the house, he would permanently straighten out his beard. However, given the state of his beard these days, it’s unclear whether he finds time away from his practice to incorporate it into his routine.

While most Australians are dozing off for nine hours, Simon spends that time rebraiding his hair. However, he only does it every few months or so.

Whitlock competed in the British Darts Organisation from 2004 to 2009 before switching to the PDC.

Simon Whitlock Illness Update

This year, Simon Whitlock has been free of illness. However, this is not to say he has never been injured. In May of 2019, he was suffering from tendonitis, causing him pain and stiffness.

Although minor tendonitis typically heals in two to three weeks, Simon struggled for six weeks before feeling better.

Simon was wearing a heavy strapping on his right elbow during the first round of World Matchplay. His tendons appeared to be inflamed. He claimed, however, that he was feeling much better.

Moreover, Simon withdrew from the German Darts Open in April 2018 due to an illness he never disclosed.
