Did Audrey Hepburn Sing In Funny Face? Own Voice Clip Details, Fred Astaire Age At Funny Face

Unlike in the movie “My Fair Lady,” Audrey Hepburn did all her singing in Funny Face. And, she left no crumbs!

Hepburn was an American actress, fashion icon, and humanitarian. One of the popular and greatest Hollywood legends of all time, Audrey’s singing talent is lesser-known among the public.

Nevertheless, her voice is still alive through the musical numbers of Funny Face. Her elegance is perfectly reflected in her character.

Audio: Did Audrey Hepburn Sing In Funny Face?

Yes, Audrey Hepburn sang her audio part in Funny Face.

Funny Face is a 1957 blockbuster musical romantic comedy cinema. The movie features former Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn (as Jo Stockton), Fred Astaire (as Dick Avery), and Klay Thompson (as Maggie Prescott).

Besides the plot, cinematography, and fashion moments, Funny Face is also remembered for its amazing songs and voices that sang it. Some musical numbers from the movie include On How to Be Lovely, He Loves, and She Loves, and How Long Has This Been Going On?

In addition to portraying Jo, Hepburn’s voice perfectly fits the singing job. Though she wasn’t a professional singer, she did enough justice for the role.

This was also Audrey’s redemption for the movie “My Fair Lady.” In the famous film, her voice was dubbed by Marni Nixon. Despite Marni’s flawless singing for the part, the dubbing was heavily criticized for not matching Audrey’s voice.

Therefore, Hepburn stepped into Funny Face to give the character her own “Audrey thing.”

Audrey Hepburn And Fred Astaire Age in Funny Face

Despite Funny Face’s star value, the movie hasn’t aged well in one aspect: the age difference between the cast.

When the movie was released, Audrey Hepburn was 28 years old. On the other hand, Fred Astaire was 58 years old. This is a large age difference of 30 years old!

Since Audrey and Fred play the love interests and have some intimate scenes in the movie, some people frown upon the casting choice. Newer generations have accused Audrey was young enough to be Fred’s daughter.

Nonetheless, a huge age gap wasn’t uncommon during that era. Fred was 56 years old when he starred with 26 years old Leslie Caron in Daddy Long Legs (1955).

Moreover, Fred was the right choice for the movie, considering his dancing skills, unique voice, and acting talent.

Her Legacy: Meet Audrey Hepburn’s Granddaughter

Hepburn passed away on Jan 20, 1998, due to her battle with cancer. She was 63 years old.

Audrey Hepburn is still alive today through her granddaughter, Emma Ferrer.

Among Hepburn’s two children, Sean Ferrer followed her path. Sean is working as an author and producer in the Hollywood industry. Likewise, his daughter, Emma, keeps Hepburn’s legacy alive.

As of now, Emma Ferrer is an established actress and model. The 28 years old has starred in movies like The Man in the Attic (2019) and Audrey (2020).

Besides, Emma is also keeping her grandmother’s philanthropy alive. She is involved with organizations like UNCHR and UNICEF as the ambassador and spokesperson, respectively.
