Who Is Dr Caitlin Bernard Obgyn? 10-Year-Old Ohio Victim And Fight For Justice

Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist, performed an abortion on a 10-year-old girl after getting a call from his friend who was accused of raping the same girl back in his home state Ohio.

The news came to media attention after the supreme court overturned Roe Vs. Wade earlier this month, imposing a ban on any abortion in Ohio. As a result, the girl had to travel to Indianapolis to abort her 6-week-old fetus.

10-Year-Old Ohio Victim And Fight For Justice

A 27-year-old man, Gershon Fuentes, from Columbus, Ohio, allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl several times. He confessed to the police of the crime on Tuesday and has been in police custody since then. He is currently being jailed on a $2 million bond after being charged with rape.

Franklin County Children Services received a referral from the girl’s mother on June 22 that alerted Columbus police about the girl’s pregnancy. Since the girl had just turned 10, she likely became pregnant when she was nine.

The accused is believed to be in the country illegally, which has raised even more concern among the law enforcement department. He may receive a life sentence in prison if found guilty.

Abortionist Dr. Caitlin Bernard Questions On Court Overturning Roe Vs. Wade

According to Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an abortion was administered for this child since the girl could not have an abortion in Ohio due to a recently enacted state law prohibiting abortions at the first detectable fetal heartbeat.

As the U.S. Supreme Court repealed Roe v. Wade, a judge lifted the ban’s stay. Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost claimed that he hadn’t heard a word about any allegations or arrests connected to such a case from Ohio’s law enforcement.

The supporters of the abortion ban are criticizing the story by questioning whether it is a good story in the first place. The young rape victim would have qualified for the Ohio heartbeat abortion ban’s exception for medical situations.
