This is one of the historic moments caught live as it kept streaming for over 30 minutes. People have assumed the reason for the raid is McLinnes’s association with the Russia-sponsored Black Hammer group, as he is frequently the target of public criticism for his political opinions and remarks.
Likewise, another Twitter user brought up the possibility that McInnes’ anti-communist views were behind the attempted arrest. After the feds approached him soon, he started his stream on Censored.TV, Gavin McInness nearly got detained. Regardless of several theories panned out by netizens, Gavin has not disclosed the real cause to the public.

Proud Boys members have repeatedly engaged in combat with antifascist demonstrators. In 2016, Gavin filed a lawsuit against the SPLC after classifying the group as a hate group.
