A graduate of Liverpool John Moores University, Grant was working as a trainee civil engineer at Balfour Beatty. Similarly, he was a former youth player for the Colts Rugby Club.

Since Taylor died in a foreign land, his body needed to be repatriated to the UK for proper burial. Therefore, a fundraiser was initiated to bring his body back to the country.
The crowdfunding, which initially set a target of £6,000, collected over £25,000 in two weeks. The excess money was donated to the Dementia – UK, a charity very dear to Grant.
After months of his departure, Grant Taylor’s obituary is resurfacing on the internet. It could be due to Liam Gallagher’s tribute.

On June 1, 2022, the singer performed at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. For the last set, Liam dedicated his hit song “Champagne Supernova” to the late engineer. Apparently, Taylor was a huge Liam Gallagher fan and had even bought the ticket to the concert.
The request was made by Grant’s sister, Katie, via a tweet. Initially, she asked Liam to perform another hit single, “Live Forever as Taylor had explicitly chosen this song as his funeral song.

Despite the last-minute song switch, Katie was filled with emotions as Liam sang Champagne Supernova in the memory of Taylor. She had attended the concert with the same passes her brother had bought.
Likewise, the sister was also seen holding a flag with Taylor’s picture. A blue heart and the phrase “Live Forever” were also marked on the banner.
