Detective Luis Silberberg has reportedly been on paid leave since February, per the authorities. As soon as criminal accusations were announced, his status was changed to suspension without pay.

How Was BSO Deputy Investigation Took Place?

To help with the operation, an agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) pretended to be a passenger who discovered an unsecured brown purse in the terminal.

The handbag containing $1,664 in cash was given to Deputy Spencer by the undercover ATF agent while he was on duty, dressed in uniform, and seated in his marked BSO car. Several ruse items were also included in the purse to make it seem like a traveler had misplaced it.

According to BSO detectives, Deputy Spencer made no attempts to turn in the handbag or its contents during the remainder of his shift, which concluded at 5 a.m. on Thursday, August 25. They claimed he retained the money but threw away the handbag and its contents.
