Following her time as a competitor on the Mnet reality show “Idol School,” Jang Gyuri made her official debut with the group Fromis_9 in January 2018.
The following year, in 2019, the idol also started her acting career in the online drama series ‘Dating Class’ shown on tvN D.

Jang Gyu-ri’s birthday is December 27th, and she was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
Gyuri is her father’s sole kid, and he is a Colonel in the military. She has no siblings. Gyuri started learning to play the piano early, and her mother was a big help throughout the process. This eventually led to her joining the Seoul University Institute of Arts, where Gyuri pursued a degree in acting.
Gyuri also spent a year studying abroad in Richmond, Virginia, where she was exposed to the fundamentals of the English language. After spending years pleading with her parents, they finally agreed to let Gyuri enroll in Idol School so that she could pursue her ambition of being a singer.

Gyuri made her first appearance on television in July of 2017 as an independent trainee and was one of the first competitors to participate in Idol School. She performed songs like Gfriend’s Rough and Miss A’s Hush, which delighted the judges with her consistent voice and diversity in the themes she used.
Gyuri finished in ninth place, with 57,230 votes, which made her a member of the winning team, designated as Fromis_9. Gyuri made her first appearance with the other eight members of Fromis_9 with the release of the mini album To. Heart and the title tune of the same name.
Gyuri voiced her concern shortly after the completion of promotions that she did not have sufficient experience before making her debut. This was because she had been an independent trainee before joining Fromis_9.
As a result, she competed in the reality program Produce 48 in 2018 to obtain experience working in a setting designed for training. During this period, Fromis_9 remained an eight-member group with the release of the short album To. Day and the single DKDK.
Gyuri returned to Fromis_9 for the group’s third music release, the group’s first unique single album From.9 with the title tune “LOVE BOMB.” This was made possible since Gyuri was ousted from Produce 48 during the third round of elimination on episode eleven.
The first part of 2019 saw Fromis_9 take a break, allowing its members to concentrate on their endeavors. In addition to making her debut in the acting world with the lead part in the TvN drama Dating Class, Gyuri was a contestant on the television show King of the Masked Singer.
Later that year, the band issued its debut single album, FUN!, which featured the song as the album’s title track.

Is Jang Gyuri Returning To Fromis_9? Why Is She Leaving?
Pledis Entertainment announced on Weverse on July 28th that Jang Gyuri had finished her promotions for her fifth mini-album, ‘From our Memento Box.’
As of July 31st, she will finish her contract with Fromis_9 and other activities. As per Pledis Entertainment, Gyuri is set on an exciting new adventure. Because of this, beginning in August, Fromis_9 will restructure itself as an eight-person group.
The group made its debut at the beginning of 2018. We Go, the title tune of the band’s second single, “9 WAY TICKET,” released in May of 2021, has resurfaced as a successful musical offering. Synergy was created when the members’ refreshed images in the song linked with one another.

Especially after they had moved to Pledis of HYBE Labels in the second half of 2021, their strength started to improve and continued to improve after that. Since the release of Fromis_9, Han Seong Su, the Chief Executive Officer of Pledis, the company to which SEVENTEEN and others belong, has been producing. Fromis_9 became a well-known female group with the publication of their fourth mini album, titled “Midnight Guest,” in January. They gained recognition for their concepts and celebrity, contributing to their popularity. However, the eight members signed new exclusive contracts when they relocated to Pledis in August of the previous year. Only Jang Gyuri remained faithful to the conditions of the first contract made with the prior agency; nevertheless, the exclusive contract ended this time.
