The young American politician started his Tik Tok in early 2021, sharing with local people the inside work at the Commissioner’s office in a fun way. 

Kick started with his first video, “Constituent services be like… Hello Commissioner?” Russell has come a long way, and within a year and a half, he has smashed 364.2K followers and a staggering 9 million likes on his videos.

After changing his candidacy from U.S. State Senate to House representative for 27th Florida, he altered his Tik Tok username to @kenforflorida. Since then, he has appropriately utilized the social media platform for his election campaign.

He frequently reminds people of the upcoming primary election on August 23 and the general election scheduled on November 8 this year. Collaborating with various other Tik Tok celebrities, Russell is pushing everything on the line to win the election.

And as time went on, people loved his video and approach more and more because of his inventiveness. Russell clarified to one of his followers that he is the only one handling his social media presence and has not employed a team or social media manager.

Speaking of his political party, Russell has lived and breathes Democratic agendas since he ventured into politics in 2013.

And stating the facts, Russell has done fairly remarkable jobs as a Democratic Commissioner in Miami City. He bolstered the Citizen Investigative Panel (CIP) with a budget that would rise in line with the police budget to ensure that investigation accountability would receive enough funding.

In addition, the energetic young leader proclaimed a day to honor Fred Korematsu yearly in Miami in favor of diversity and human rights. Similarly, his other contribution to the people of Miami includes pushing for a law enabling the construction of micro-units to address Miami’s lack of affordable housing.

The American yo-yo champion Ken Russell was born on June 25, 1973, in Coral Gables, Florida. His present age is 49, a year short of the 50-year mark.

When he was six, his family relocated to Stuart, Florida, from Miami in the wake of Hurricane David in 1979. In 1991, Russell received his high school diploma from Martin County.

Russell started performing professionally at age 15 and went on worldwide yo-yo tours. He went to The Chapel Hill’s University of North Carolina. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Russell got active in local politics when he and other Coconut Grove homeowners demanded that the city remove harmful dirt from a park rather than cover it in 2013. Marc Sarnoff, the incumbent, could not run again due to term restrictions; hence Russell was elected to represent District 2 on the Miami City Commission in 2015. Thus began his political journey.

The 49-year-old active Tiktoker-politician has not made his net worth public, but by word of mouth, his net worth nears $2 million.

Ken Russell was born into a business family. After returning from the debris of the second world war, his father and his mother started a business in Cuba. After fleeing from Cuba, his father settled in Miami.

After receiving his degree, he started working for his family’s business. Following the effects of the Great Recession on the company, Russell built a watersports shop. Moreover, he has been raising funds for his electoral campaign on Tiktok. 

Through September 30, according to Russell’s fundraising records, he had amassed more than $756,000. The contributions ranged from $100 to $2,900.
