Is Michael Gerson Sick, What Is Wrong With op-ed Columnist For The Washington Post? Health Update Details

The regular voice on the PBS NewsHour, Michael Gerson, revealed that he suffers from a brain disorder called Parkinson’s disease that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as stiffness, shaking, and difficulty with balance and coordination.

The intel about his condition got disclosed through an article by PBS news hour in 2019. It also revealed how his brain chemistry had led him to depression while having negative thoughts about himself and his relationships with others.

After a medical hospitalization for his illness, Gerson decided to go public and share what he went through with the people. He slowly and gradually overcame the demon inside his head with the help of patience, the proper medication and treatments, and the support of his friends and families.

Gerson seems to have been suffering from health complications but hasn’t shared the details relating to his health updates to the media; he has suffered through several health issues throughout his life.

On the top of Parkinson’s disease, the op-ed columnist also has lived with slow-growing kidney cancer and battled depression. Furthermore, he was also diagnosed with major depressive disorder.

The 58 years has gotten engaged in several professions; he serves as an op-ed columnist for The Washington Post, a visiting fellow with the Center for Public Justice, and a Policy Fellow with One Campaign. Moreover, Gerson was a former senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and President George W. Bush’s chief speechwriter.

Gerson is a married man and has two children. The op-ed columnist walked down the aisle with Dawn Gerson, born in South Korea and raised in the Midwestern United States; an American family adopted Dawn when she was six.

Furthermore, Michael met his better half in high school, and they might have been high school sweethearts from Westminster Christian Academy and have been together for more than three decades. However, the couple hasn’t revealed when they took the wedding vows, so we are unaware of when they celebrate their wedding anniversary.
