Dane Luke Pineau, better known as Dane Pineau, is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the South East Melbourne Phoenix. 

The basketball player was born on the 2nd of August in 1994 to parents Brad Pineau and Diane Pineau in Fitzroy, Victoria. His father is a former NBL player for Devonport Warriors and Melbourne Tigers.

With a former basketball player for a father, Dane quickly fell in love with the game.

He was in the United States when he first started showing interest in Basketball. He was around five years old when he went to a camp in New York. At the end of camp, they gave him a participation trophy. 

His father helped him hone his skills by setting up drills for him as a young boy.

Dane Pineau Injury Details

Dane Pineau was making good progress after missing the start of the NBL21 season due to a back injury. He had already begun to take part in some aspects of training.

After recovering from his back injury, he returned for one game in March before being forced to sit out again. He was then sidelined by knee and wrist injuries, which were both treated and kept him out until the following season.

South East Melbourne Phoenix was then forced to sign a replacement for Dane while he was injured. They ended up signing Mike Karena.

Dane Pineau is again forced to sit out on matches with players Cam Gliddon and Kyle Adnam as COVID-19 protocols have impacted South East Melbourne.
