Rebecca Hogue Guilty Or Innocent? Decide For Yourself As Christopher Trent Oklahoma Case Doesn’t Add Up

Rebecca Hogue was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of her two-year-old son Ryder under Oklahoma’s “failure to protect” laws.

Ryder, who was only two-and-a-half years old at the time, was in the care of Hogue’s boyfriend, Christopher Trent.

Trent was found dead by suicide in the Wichita Mountain Reserve on January 4, 2020, shortly after the death of Rebecca Hogue’s child.

Trent was the only suspect in Ryder’s death that the Norman Police Department had been looking into.

Hogue was arrested in July 2020 on charges of first-degree murder for allowing child abuse under failure to protect law.

Was Rebecca Hogue Guilty Or Innocent?

During a jury trial, Rebecca Hogue was found guilty of first-degree murder for allowing child abuse and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

The jury was unable to see some crucial evidence during the trial, and the defense’s concern about how Hogue’s case would be presented was a driving factor in their decision to appear on “Accused.”

Following Hogue’s week-long trial, the jury recommended a life sentence in November 2021.

At her February 2022 hearing, Cleveland County District Judge Michael Tupper decided to suspend the majority of her sentence, reducing it to 16 months.

Hogue’s sentence was reduced to 13 months due to her time served, and she is scheduled to be released in 2023.

Ryder, her son, appeared to be sleeping in his crib. She had left his boyfriend Christopher to care for him while she worked.

Rebecca went to sleep, and a few hours later, Ryder was not breathing, and Christopher had left. She immediately dialed 911, and authorities found Ryder bruised and injured in the face and head.
