Abdul Rehman Chishti is the father of Atta-Ur-Rehman Chishti. He hasn’t made any mention of his mother.

On October 4, 1978, Chishti was born in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Abdul Rehman Chishti was appointed as the Federal Advisor on Religious Matters to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir in 1976 by famous Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In 1978, his father left Pakistan to accept a position as an imam in the United Kingdom. Shortly after, Bhutto was toppled in a military coup led by General Zia-ul-Haq, who would subsequently execute Bhutto. He did not see his father for the first six years of his life.

At six, he immigrated to the UK to live with his father. Since then, he has resided in Gillingham and Rainham with his mother and older sister.

Rehman has presided over the Conservative Foreign and Commonwealth Council since 2016 and is an executive member of the British American Parliamentary Group.

Rehman worked as Benazir Bhutto’s political advisor from 1999 to 2007. Rehman served as Francis Maude’s community adviser in 2006, when Maude was the Conservative Party’s chairman.
