Galligan was contemplating how her life had quickly turned upside down while she was alone in her room. The England and Harlequins lock’s condition deteriorated after she started vomiting and lost all muscle control in her legs one evening.

She was immediately diagnosed with meningitis upon being blue-lighted to A&E in the morning. Her international career was put on hold by a diagnosis of meningitis in September 2019 and then a significant injury in January 2020 from a fall during a line-out that left her with a broken leg, an ankle, and three ruptured ligaments.

As a result, she did not receive her second cap until the 2022 Six Nations game against Scotland.

4. She Signed For Harlequins 

Rosie Galligan’s rugby career improved when she switched to Harlequins from Saracens. She performed admirably enough to be called back into the England team for the Six Nations campaign, and she earned her second cap more than a year after making her debut against Ireland in February 2019.

Galligan also uses her platform to inform others about meningitis and how to recognize its symptoms. Despite the hardships and stress, Galligan has learned to cherish the “little victories” and times that helped her life return to normal, such as the day she was released from the hospital.
