Tage Thompson And Wife Rachel Thompson Fought Cancer, A Journey Of Highs And Lows

Tage Thompson and his wife, Rachel Thompson, battled cancer in 2018. Thompson’s wife Rachel, who was 20, had to undergo surgery four years ago to remove a tumor over her right knee to prevent cancer from spreading.

And despite their young age, Tage and Rachel have already experienced lots of highs and lows together. In an interview with Sports Net, Tage said those troubling times have given them a greater perspective in life and made him realize how blessed he and Rachel are.

At the time, the young couple had been dating for little over a year, and Rachel, for most of 2018, continued to suffer from health issues. Tage first went public with his romance with Rachel in 2017 as he captioned a post of the two sitting together, “Glad I got to see this one again.”

Tage and Rachel were in a long-distance relationship as the ice hockey center had been drafted by Buffalo Sabres and was busy trying to establish himself as a starter on the team.

In several photos shared by Tate after their post together, his caption certainly tells the story that he yearned to spend time with his then-girlfriend and future wife. Very into their relationship, Tage had already introduced Rachel to his parents and family, and they all seemed to approve of their relationship. 

And after four years together, the couple finally tied the knot last year on July 25. Before their wedding, Rachel’s family had held a bridal shower which she celebrated with her close family and friends.

From receiving the devastating news over the phone of his girlfriend’s cancer diagnosis to parenting a baby boy with her, Tage and Rachel have come a long way since they first met at a Halloween party in 2016.

Tage Thompson has a son Brooks Nathaniel Thompson with his wife, Rachel Thompson. The couple welcomed their son to the world on July 7, 2022.

Tage shared a photo of him and Rachel cradling Brookes on his Instagram handle. “Welcome to the world, baby boy. You are so loved by so many. What a beautiful gift from God. Beyond blessed”, wrote Tage in his Instagram post.

Similarly, since his birth, Rachel has shared tons of photos of Brooks on her Instagram handle. She even took little Brooks to the stadium to spy on his dad’s work and calls her son the best game buddy.

Seeing Tage and Brooke together with their child gives a feeling that they are soulmates. From starting to date, each other in their teenage years to seeing them become life partners can make anybody’s heart full.

On their first marriage anniversary, the ice hockey player shared a photo of Rachel holding their baby Brooks outside their home in the waterfront area and captioned the post, “Little late but happy 1st anniversary to my beautiful wife and baby mamma! Love u!”

Tage Thompson and his family life have been filled with highs and lows. But the ice hockey player has been able to come out of every personal battle with a smile and victory by his side.

The Buffalo Sabres player was born to parents Brent Thompson and Kimberly Oliver Thompson in 1996 and was raised alongside his younger brother Tyce.

Brent Thompson, his father, had always been Tage’s biggest inspiration. The former hockey player and coach kept his family on their toes as he traveled to various states because of his professional career.

He is married to Rachel Thompson, whom he met in 2016, and the sparks flew between them on their first eye contact. The couple recently has become parents to a son named Brook.

But before they parented their son Brook, Rachel and Tage parented a pet dog, little Buff, together. The cute labrador even has its own Instagram handle, where over 2k people follow it.

Battling the deadly disease of cancer together to now being one of the famous NHL couples, Tage and Rachel has certainly come a long way in their relationship.
