Hedeman only managed to ride Bodacious once more for four seconds before suffering a second accident that resulted in a broken face.

While on board Bodacious, Hedeman sustained one of his worst wounds. The 1800-pound bull Bodacious or Bo had a striking hue and had become despised. Hedeman was among the few bull riders to leave his house for eight seconds while facing The World’s Most Dangerous Bull.

Hedeman was shoved to the ground by Bodacious, and he immediately felt numb from the blood coursing through him. Hedeman soon became aware that his jaw was fractured and that it had left his entire face deformed.

Once in the hospital, the medical staff discovered that Hedeman had already had every prominent bone in his face broken by the blow. He needed two operations that took 13 hours to finish, and six titanium plates were required to restore his face.

Hedeman rode Bodacious again in 1995 at the PBR Finals in Las Vegas, earning a riding percentage of 82.35 and taking first place in the standings. Bodacious missed the years 1993 through 1995 due to an injury, but upon his return, he was more aggressive and challenging to defeat.

Tracy Stepp and Tuff Hedeman were wed in 1986.
