Poppleton attended Fremont’s Conrad Noll School and was seen alive around Darwin Drive and Fremont Boulevard.

Kelly’s death was linked to a school drug conspiracy, according to investigators at the time.

A black Pontiac Trans Am was reported by witnesses in the area where her body was discovered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Kelly Poppleton’s death has been a mystery for decades.

Kelly Poppleton, 14, was found dead near Kilkare Road in Sunol on December 2, 1983, and her death has remained unsolved to this day.

More than three decades later, investigators with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office are reviewing the cold case in search of leads in the teenager’s gruesome death.

On December 2, 1983, police received a distress call from a motorist who claimed to have seen an apparently unconscious body on the side of the road.

During the initial inquiry, officers discovered that the victim was still bleeding and attempted to resuscitate her. However, the girl’s injuries were too severe, and she died soon after.

Kellie was an excellent student with a promising future ahead of her.

Her cheerful attitude and pleasant attitude made her a beloved figure in her community, and the teenager is still much missed.

Kelly Poppleton had died of asphyxiation. Her head was covered in two plastic shopping bags, and a clumsily fashioned rope formed of a tie was securely wrapped around her neck. 

During the beginning stages of the investigation into Kellie Poppleton, law enforcement personnel had a lot of problems because there were no plausible leads to follow. 

The body was located several days after the victim had gone missing, and it took the police several days to identify Kellie Poppleton. 

The officers discovered the victim was still bleeding during their initial inquiry and attempted to resuscitate her.

During the process of the inquiry, detectives discovered that Kellie was allegedly in charge of reporting to authorities about a suspected drug ring.

Trina Bence, a 13-year-old girl, was able to provide officials with explicit information regarding Kellie’s death.

Trina was arrested and detained at a juvenile detention center while the police investigated. 

Kellie’s case has remained unresolved since then, despite the fact that the police say the inquiry is still ongoing.

Kelly Poppleton’s family contacted police, claiming that their daughter, Kellie Poppleton, had gone missing in the middle of the day from a strip mall.

Despite the fact that local residents had seen Kellie making a phone call from the mall, no one witnessed her being kidnapped, and there was no word about the missing girl until her body was discovered.

Kellie’s family, on the other hand, has kept the bright girl alive in their memories as they wait for the closure they so well deserve.
