According to an NYPD spokeswoman, Theodore Ellis, 30, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and misdemeanor assault.

At around 4:30 p.m., Ellis reportedly pushed the 52-year-old lady onto the southbound tracks of the Westchester Avenue – Jackson Avenue subway station, according to surveillance video.

The incident was unprovoked, according to PIX11 News. The woman was rushed to the hospital with a broken collarbone and injuries to her head, and officials stated she was in stable condition.

Theodore Ellis, 31, is being held in custody after reportedly pushing the woman onto the train rails at the Westchester Avenue/Jackson Avenue subway station in the Bronx’s Longwood neighborhood.

Around 4:40 p.m., the terrifying episode occurred. Police say Ellis doesn’t recall what the woman said to him prior to the alleged crime, which was caught on camera on Sunday. There was no train coming, so she was escorted back onto the platform by others at the station.

The woman received cuts all over her body in addition to a broken collarbone, but she is expected to recover.
