She attended Assumption Antipolo High School, earning her diploma in 2015. To pursue a major in sports management, Pagdanganan enrolled at Gonzaga University in the United States in 2015, where she also played golf during her spree time.

Pagdanganan transferred to the University of Arizona after spending two years at Gonzaga. Later, she competed on behalf of the University of Arizona and assisted the Arizona Wildcats in winning the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships.

She has said: “My dad started bringing me to the driving range when I was seven years old. It all started out of curiosity. I just enjoyed watching my dad and thought it was so cool that he hit it far. Eventually, he gave me a set of plastic clubs to pique my curiosity. Once I started hitting things inside the house with my toy clubs, that’s when mom told me to practice outside and bring it to the driving range.”

“When I first left for college, trying to manage [my] time with everything (school, golf, workouts) was pretty tough. But I believe this helped me transition to life on tour, especially with all the travelling that I do. I can’t say that I’ve mastered it already, but it prepared me for life I would live for the next couple of years.”

Pagdanganan participated in national youth competitions in the Philippines before emigrating to the US. She won the 2013 Philippine Ladies Open, the 2014 Philippine Junior Amateur Open, and the stroke play portion of the 2013 Philippine Amateur Open, where she finished with a low medal.

She also finished second in the 2013 Philippine Amateur Championship and the 2012 PHILEX Northern Luzon Regional Amateur Golf Championship.
