Retired in 2010, he co-hosts a radio show called The Fast Lane on 101 ESPN. Brad works as a color commentator and a sports analyst at Bally Sports Midwest.

Andrea graduated from the University of Texas, Austin and Vanderbilt University. The Thompsons have been the chair members of the Thompson Foundation for Autism for a long time.
Back on October 18, 2022, Brad announced an invitation for a Gala and Auction held by an organization that works for autistic people and told people to be a part of it. At the event, the Thompson Foundation collaborated with the Thompson Center for Autism to provide life-changing services. The honorary chairs, Brad and Andrea were also present there.
Bill and Nancy Thompson founded the Thompson Foundation in 2005 to positively impact the lives of children and families suffering from autistic spectrum disorder.
The foundation also works with Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the University of Missouri-Columbia and with 13,000 patients annually. The services provided, like therapy to different treatments, apply to patients with even severe problems.
Brad and Andrea have been a part of the campaign for a long time and are working towards creating awareness and providing services with the hope that patients with the condition get the best service possible.

Thompson has two children with Andrea, a son named Dylan and a daughter named Lexi.
Their first son Dylan Joseph Thompson was born on May 16, 2013, and that was the first picture Brad ever posted on his Instagram. The baby was covered in a warm blanket with a Baseball print written on it.
Their daughter Lexi was born in 2016 and Andrea shared a picture of them holding their newborn.
Brad has posted many pictures of his son as a young child and he again posted one picture of Dylan in 2020, where he looked all grown up. The young boy has beautiful brunette-colored hair and is smiling at the camera.
Similarly, he again shared a picture on April 2020 where Dylan was cleaning the road. In this picture, Brad mentioned in the caption that he is finally getting the hang of the parenting thing.
In August 2021, he took his son Dylan to a baseball event at the Gateway Grizzlies Baseball.
The couple also has a daughter; the only time Brad shared a picture of her was in December 2020. It was exactly a day after Christmas and the kids eagerly opened their gifts.
