What Is Wrong With Eamonn Holmes? Irish Broadcaster Health Condition And Illness Discussed

Eamonn Holmes received an outpouring of support after releasing a statement about his health condition. Holmes had been forced to take a break from hosting GB News in order to receive “unexpected” hospital care.

He provided an open update on his struggle with chronic pain. Eamonn Holmes is a journalist and broadcaster from Northern Ireland. Holmes co-hosted GMTV for 12 years, from 1993 to 2005, and then presented Sky News Sunrise for 11 years, from 2005 to 2016.

Holmes received his education in Belfast at St. Malachy’s College and Holy Family Primary School. After that, he enrolled in the journalism program at the Dublin College of Business Studies.

Prior to working in the television industry, Holmes worked in Dublin for a business journal. He started working as a host and reporter for Ulster Television, the ITV franchise provider for Northern Ireland, in 1979 for the Farming Ulster program.

Eamonn Holmes Illness 2022: What Happened To Him?

Eamonn Holmes faces chronic pain and he was rushed to the hospital. He had to go to the hospital unexpectedly for some unexpected treatment due to a recurrence of a chronic back ailment.

After getting an MRI, he later learned that his discomfort started when he “mysteriously” dislocated his pelvis, which ultimately led to his back issues.

Since then, Eamonn has been receiving physiotherapy, and he has acknowledged that he “has been utilizing a walking stick or crutch every day.”

The GB News host claimed that he is working with alternative and natural therapists, physiotherapists, and the best medical care he can get in an effort to relieve his persistent back and leg discomfort. His goal is to become more comfortable and active.

In addition, he acknowledges that there are times when he feels “absolutely brutally horrible,” but he is also aware of his good fortune.

Eamonn Holmes Married Life

Eamonn Holmes is married to Ruth Langsford. Prior to this, Holmes was married to Gabrielle Holmes, the mother of his three children.

Holmes and his first wife separated after ten years of marriage. In his 2008 autobiography This is My Life: The Autobiography, Eamonn discussed the reasons why their marriage failed.

In 2010, Eamonn married presenter Ruth from Loose Women, and the two are parents to Jack. For years, the couple has co-hosted This Morning, but the father of four has since switched to the competing channel GB News.

Ruth has been a regular panelist on the ITV chat show Loose Women since 1999. In 2013, she was promoted to host. She competed in the fifteenth season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, placing ninth overall.

Since leaving ITV, Eamonn Holmes has been the host of the GB News Breakfast Show. In January 2022, he and Isabel Webster started hosting together. He is currently updating and seeing his doctor in addition to hosting because of discomfort and illness.

Holmes supports a wide range of charitable organizations and causes, such as Dogs Trust, Variety GB, and the Northern Ireland Kidney Patients’ Association. He has broadcast television coverage of tennis, darts, horse racing, and snooker.

Holmes started serving as a celebrity ambassador for Variety GB in April 2015. He joined the Northern Ireland Kidney Patients’ Association as a patron in January 2016. He and his wife Ruth Langsford started supporting The Amy May Trust in March 2020.
