Patrick, a Michigan resident, was found guilty of the second-degree murder of a 30-year-old woman, Roxanne Leigh Wood. The police authorities stated that Patrick hit Wood with a frying pan and slit her throat.
Initially, people suspected that Wood’s husband, Terry Wood, was the murderer. However, the DNA report suggested otherwise, which led police to Gilham.
Investigators obtained DNA from the cigarette Patrick threw away at the murder spot. After that, authorities arrested him 10 miles away from Niles at his home in South Bend, Indiana.
