Matthews served as the Deputy Press Secretary to former President Donald Trump from June 8, 2020, to January 7, 2021. She was among the top employees who resigned from the position after the Capitol attack 2021.

In the recent turn of events, Sarah is set to join Matthew Pottinger to address what actually went down on January 6. Her statements could be crucial for the turnout of the case.

January 6 Hearing Update – Is Sarah Matthews Jewish?

Sarah Matthews is scheduled to testify in front of the committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol Riot. She will present her side of the story at the upcoming Thursday’s hearing.

As one of the prime witnesses of the case, people are naturally interested in her personal life – especially her religion. There are speculations that Sarah Matthews might be following the Jewish religion.

However, the rumors have not been confirmed yet. In fact, Sarah has never talked about her religious beliefs.

It is pretty evident that Trump is a Christian. In 2020, the former president confirmed he had left the Presbyterian path to follow non-denominational Christianity. This means he is no longer affiliated with the recognized denominations and mainline churches.

But, we cannot assume his staff’s faith is based on Trump’s own religion. It will be better not to address the gossip before Sarah’s own confirmation.

Sarah Matthews Political Affiliation

Though her religion may be private, Sarah Matthew’s political affiliation with the republican party is pretty much evident.

Sarah Matthews’s link with the republic political party dates back to her college days. She studied at Kent State University, where she was part Kent State branch of the College Republican National Committee. Likewise, she was also involved with the Stark County Republican Conference in her college.

Sarah started her job in the House of Representatives before graduating in 2017. She worked in the Republican Committee on Energy and Commerce communications department and the Republican Homeland Security Committee.

In 2019, the republican officially joined Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. She was eventually hired in the white house by Kayleigh McEnany as one of the deputy press secretaries.

As a spokesperson for Trump, Matthews became popular for her witty answers. In fact, her statements were featured by NBC News, The New York Times, and Fox News.

However, the Capitol Riot controversy became challenging to handle for even someone like Sarah. As she resigned, Sarah said, “I’ll be stepping down from my role immediately. Our nation needs a peaceful transfer of power,”

Beyond Work – Sarah Matthews Family Life

Born on April 20, 1995, Sarah Matthews is 27 years old in age. She hails from North Canton, Cleveland, Ohio.

Sarah inherits her political zing from her parents, Jeffrey A. Matthews and Heidi R. Matthews. Apparently, both Jeffery and Heidi are also Republican political officials. Likewise, she has a sister named Emily C. Hyde.

As a Cleveland native, Matthews supports every Cleveland sports team, including the Cleveland Indians Baseball team, Cleveland Browns football team, and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team.

However, she currently resides in Washington, DC, due to her professional endeavors. Following her departure from Trump’s team, the republican has rejoined the house of Representatives as communications director under the committee on climate change.

Now, Sarah is all set to testify in the January 6 hearing. Nonetheless, this is not the first testimony from her side. She had previously appeared in front of the committee in Feb.

During the last hearing, Sarah already expressed her criticism of Trump. She described Trump’s certain actions on January 6 as “pouring gasoline on the fire.”

In a Tweet, the former Trump supporter stated, “Make no mistake, the events on the 6th were a coup attempt, a term we’d use had they happened in any other country, and former President Trump failed to meet the moment,”

Only time will tell what bombshell she will drop this time.
