If sources are to be believed, the Colombian drug lord was suffering from several diseases, that ultimately took his life. He had been diagnosed with colon cancer, prostate cancer, hypertension, gout, and psychiatric disorders.
In 2020, he said that he was dying of cancer and that his poor health will become the cause of his death in the future. Already 79, he had been suffering from diseases for a long time.
Furthermore, the Colombian drug leader was serving 30 years sentence at FCI Loretto in Pennsylvania, USA. His release date was of July 15, 2029, and now his body will be evacuated from the prison.

The Colombian drug lord got captured on August 6, 1995, when the Colombian National Police broke down the door of his apartment in the exclusive Normandia neighborhood in Cali, Colombia, and found him hiding in a secret closet.
