Ivanie Blondin Husband Konrad Nagy Is A Hungarian Speed Skater

Ivanie Blondin and her husband Konrad Nagy are both professional speed skaters. Ivanie married Konrad in 2020.

Blondin is a Canadian speed skater who competes in long-track and short-track events. She has represented Canada at the Winter Olympics and has won numerous medals at international competitions.

She tied the wedding knot with her long-time boyfriend, Konrad Nagy, in December 2020 at Mount Lorette in Canada. He is a Hungarian speed skater representing his country at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Meanwhile, Ivanie made his debut in the 2014 Winter Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in the team pursuit event. In addition to her Olympic success, Blondin has won multiple world championship medals and has set several national and international records.

More recently, on Friday, December 16, the Canadian skater finished third with her fellow pair Isabelle Weidemann in the 5,000-meter race at speed skating World Cup in Calgary.

Ivanie Blondin husband Konrad Nagy is a speed skater from Hungary who participated in the 2014 and 2018 Olympics.

Born on March 26, 1992, the 30-year-old athlete has been in the field of speed skating for over a decade. He began his career as a short-track speed skater and competed in distances of 500m, 1000m, and 1500 meters.

However, later Nagy switched to long-track skating in 2013 and began playing in 3000, 5000, and 10000-meter distance skating. The 2014 Russia Winter Olympics was his first time playing in the Olympics, and it was the most significant event he participated in, considering the scale of the competition.

Four years later, he qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in his national team. Unfortunately, Konrad could not give his country blood in both of his Olympic appearances. He could not win any medals.

Nonetheless, it does not deny that Nagy is the most decorated speed skater in his nation. For the time being, he holds 1000, 1500, 3000, 5000, and 10000-meter records for Hungary.

On November 15, 2013, Konrad set his first national record in the 1500 m skate at Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City. The same year he made another history in the 10000 m skate at Ice Rink Piné in Italy. He has set an example for many youths in his homeland who wish to pursue a career in sports.

Nagy, 30, did not participate in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. But he attended the event as an audience member with his spouse Ivanie. Blondin won two medals, a gold in the team pursuit and a silver in the mass start.

Ivanie And Konrad Married Life

Ivanie and Konrad tied the wedding knot in December 2020, two months after their engagement. 

The 32-year-old Canadian athlete shared some beautiful pictures on Instagram from the wedding day on December 14, 2020, with the caption, “Cheers. We got hitched!!!”

They went to Mount Lorette pond, in Kananaskis County, Alberta, for their betrothal. It was Blondin’s idea to get married near the snowy cap hills of Mount Lorette on the bask of nature and its glory in relishing environment. 

A small group of attendees, which includes their family, relatives, and close friends, were invited to the private ceremony. Blondin further shared a gorgeous image of the couple sharing a kiss in the direct sunlight.

Now paddling back from their halcyon days to when they first started dating, it was in 2017. The two times Olympic medalist shared the first picture where the couple was together in April 2017.

Ivanie and Konrad were at Panorama Mountain Resort in an alpine village, pleated deep into Canada’s oldest mountains. There, the pair celebrated Ivanie’s 27th birthday snowboarding in the snowy hills near the resort.

The Ottawa native is quite popular on Instagram and regularly uploads her picture. Compared to her soulmate Konrad who is not an active user, her account @ivanieblondin has 16.8K followers and 554 posts at the time of this writing this article.

Back in the early days of their relationship, the love birds traveled to Bucerías, Nayarit, Mexico, to enjoy their vacation. They had fun exploring the cities and beaches and fishing at Puerto Vallarta.

Ivanie and Konrad celebrated their first winter with their pet dog in October 2017 by building a snowman near their house. In December, both competed in the speed skating world championship, World Cup 3, in Calgary. The pair also visited the famous Pumpkins After Dark in Calgary.

For the month of Valentine, the athlete couple voyaged to Nagy’s home country in Budapest, Hungary. She shared a picture of them skating on the icy surface of the city’s pond.

Nagy and his wife Ivanie celebrated their 2018 Valentine’s in South Korea while attending the Winter Olympics. He shared a picture where they shared a kiss in the middle of the arena. 

Blondin suffered from depression in 2018 following the 2018 Olympics. Leaving Pyeong Chang without a medal was challenging after being a podium contender in several events. Konrad was in constant support of her, and with his help, she was able to bounce back into the game.

The blissful pair were engaged in October 2020. Konrad proposed to her while strolling with their doggie at Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Ivanie made it official by uploading a few pictures in which she showed the wedding ring to her fans.

And finally, on December 14, 2020, they officially hitched. She shared some glimpses from the wedding day on their first anniversary in December last year and this year to commemorate the second year of their marriage.

Similarly, in August 2021, their trip landed at the deepest of Ings Mine, followed by the family tour to Galatea Lakes in August in Kananaskis, Canada.
