James McCann and his wife Jessica McCann have been married for eight years. James and Jessica started dating in 2010.
The New York Mets catcher, James, 32, met his soul mate, Jessica, 33, in 2010. At the time, the young player was playing in the Cape Code Baseball League.
Fast forward twelve years later, the couple is parents to a pair of twins, Christian and Kane, with McCann having played for three MLB franchises. They are believers in the Christianity faith.
There have been trade talks going on for the Mets catcher, but no other specific team has been mentioned. And as the rumours continue to grow, the catcher will return fresh from the recent family holiday trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
James McCann And Jessica McCann Started Dating In 2010
James McCann and Jessica McCann have been in a relationship for twelve years.
When they first started dating, James was trying to make a breakthrough in the MLB as he was playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League with Cotuit Kettleers. He later moved to the minor league with Lakeland Flying Tigers and stayed with them until 2013.
The beginning stages of their relationship were a testing time for the couple as they had to make up time for each other from their hectic schedule. Jessica would constantly be flying out for James’s games.
In one of her posts dating back to 2013, Jessica shared how she had overslept, which resulted in her almost missing James’ games. But it was a lucky day for her as she reached the game on time and saw James clinch the victory for his side.
Jessica And James Engagement
Jessica and James McCann got engaged three years after dating in 2013.
It was only a matter of time before James popped the big question to his girlfriend. On September 27, 2013, Jessica announced to the world that she was engaged to the catcher after three days of dating him.
For the special occasion, the couple even wore matching T-shirts in which James’ shirt read, “I asked”, and Jessica’s read, “I said Yes!”. In the coming weeks after the engagement, Jessica shared pictures of their little rendezvous and visiting him on game days.
She even started preparing for their wedding ceremony as she started to register for gifts two months after the engagement. And from 2014, the countdown to their wedding ceremony began as Jessica started sharing throwback pictures of their engagement day.
Jessica Tied The Knot With James In 2014
James and Jessica have been married for eight years since the couple exchanged their vows in 2014.
The catcher posted a sweet tribute to his wife on their anniversary day on his Instagram handle, sharing their latest photos in one slide and another, a throwback photo to their wedding day.
For their honeymoon, James surprised Jessica with a trip to Antigua. The island was Jessica’s dream place. She had dreamt of visiting Antigua since she saw it on “The Bachelor.”
2014 was also special for the couple as James made his MLB debut for Detroit Tigers. He later went on to win the Rookie of the Year Award.
The two are believers in the Christianity faith and have publicly talked about their faith. In 2015, McCann visited Campbellsville high school, previously attended by Jessica, as he talked about servant leadership.
At the time, Jessica’s father, Kay Cox, was in Campbellsville Education Board and invited her husband to talk about his faith. For James, his faith comes first, family second, and the rest can take the last spot.

In 2016, the couple was featured by the MLB website, as James shared the video of his better half pitching for him from behind protection gear as he sent the shots flying.
Jessica was also featured in a Fox Sports Detroit game day interview and later in the interview box where fans could call and donate to the Detroit Tigers Foundation.
Jessica McCann Is Mother To A Pair of Twins
Jessica McCann became a mother to pair of twins in 2017 as she welcomed Christian and Kane into her life.
On August 30, 2017, Jessica took to her Instagram handle to share the lovely news of her being pregnant with twins as she posted a photo of her and Jim holding the Tigers jersey with McCann written.
But she had been informed by the doctors that it would be a high-risk pregnancy. The McCann decided to go for it, and on December 7, Jessica delivered the twins.
Christian and Kane were born two months premature, and the brave little boys had to spend the Christmas holidays in NICU but returned healthier and stronger to celebrate the new year with their parents.
During their stay at NICU, the couple even received gift cards from the famous country singer Tim McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill. The boys are now five years old and have been frequently seen during the game days.
It’s a tradition of the McCann to take family photos every year before they leave for baseball season, which James revealed in his Instagram post in 2020. The twins are big fans of superheroes, having dressed up as Captain America and Iron Man in the past and Spiderman and Batman for this year’s Halloween.
When it comes to supporting the NFL team, the McCann family are big supporters of the Tennesse Titans and make sure to visit Nissan Stadium while they are in Nashville.
The twins celebrated the fourth of July with their parents at the Great American Ball Park stadium, the home of the New York Mets, with whom their father signed in 2021.
For their eighth anniversary, Jessica and James had a photo shoot in Manhattan, New York, with their twins by their side. For the off-season, the couple returned to Tennessee and visited farms together.
Currently, the McCanns are enjoying a trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the catcher shared a video of playing baseball with his sons on the beach.
