Kamaru Usman is a 35 years old Nigerian-American professional mixed martial artist born on the 11th of May 1987 in Auchi, Nigeria.
Usman is a former freestyle and graduated folkstyle wrestler who began wrestling in his sophomore year at Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas; he placed third at the Texas state championships and had a 53–3 record as a senior.

His dad was a major in the Nigerian Army and immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria in 1989 to finish his education in pharmaceutical studies. He initially wanted to return home, but after six years, when the fighter was eight, he brought his family to Dallas, Texas.

Kamaru struggled with squalid poverty during his childhood with a life of deprivation in his environment. He never depended on his father; he was not among the children who wanted their parent’s attention and complained about their absence. The fighter knew his family loved him and always had their blessings.

Kamaru Usman’s Father’s Arrest And Charges
Muhammed Nasiru Usman is the father of the Nigerian-American mixed martial artist Kamaru, who got arrested on a summer day in 2009 at his home near Dallas.
A SWAT team pulled his brother Mohammed from the entryway while answering the door, and his dad Muhammed was taken into custody by Federal agents. The fighter’s father got charged with multiple counts of health care fraud, claiming an ambulance company under his ownership knowingly submitted false claims.

Later in May 2010, a jury convicted him on 14 federal charges of various offenses related to a healthcare fraud scheme, including healthcare fraud and money laundering. Usman got sentenced to 15 years in prison with restitution of $1.3 million; a month before his trial, the former freestyle wrestler won an NCAA Division II national championship for the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Kamaru was born to Afishetu P. Usman in Auchi, Nigeria, in 1987, as one of her three children; he has two siblings, Kashetu and Mohammed Usman.
Mohammed is also a mixed martial artist and a fellow UFC fighter who competes in the Heavyweight division. His mom is a Christian who grew up in Nigeria and had a tough life before immigrating to the United States.

Afishetu had to wait two weeks to access lights back home, and she had no idea about his son’s profession. When the fighter showed interest in amateur wrestling, his parents wouldn’t attend his matches.
Furthermore, when he explained how the sports worked, mamma Usman was worried about him fighting people and getting called by the school every day. However, they always supported his decision and are proud of what he has become today.
Where Is Kamaru Usman’s Father Now?
Kamaru hasn’t revealed his father’s whereabouts; however, as per ESPN, he got released from the Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution on the 5th of February after serving nearly ten years of a 15-year sentence.

Thus, we presume Mohammed is back home and living an everyday life after spending almost a decade behind bars. However, the athlete hasn’t made any recent posts worth his dad on Instagram.
Despite his arrest, the mixed martial artist has always been considerate to the person who gave life to him. The fighter was undefeated. Yet, he still chose not to go pay-per-view as the Seagoville prison camp wouldn’t put money into a PPV for his father.
