The University of Cincinnati's head coach, Luke Fickell, earns $3.4 million annually. Luke Fickell and the Bearcats agreed on a contract extension on August 25, 2020, keeping him in Cincinnati through 2016.

According to ESPN, the $3.4 million contract also included incentives like $250,000 if the Bearcats made it to the College Football Playoff and the New Year's Six Bowl and $50,000 prizes for placing in the top 25, winning the regular-season AAC championship, and winning the AAC Championship Game.
