Rozario is dating five-time Paralympic medallist Josh George from America. The couple was in talks in 2018 because Josh had moved to Sydney then and was under pressure to join the Australian team.
When Josh came to Australia, Rozario had freely admitted that she would love to join him as Australian teammates in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. It’s good to have a companion who shares your lifestyle, but getting Josh to become an Australian and join the team would be a more significant challenge.

He has competed for America in all Paralympic Games over these years, so he thought it would be different to represent another nation. In 2018, he traveled to Australia mainly to watch Madison compete in the Commonwealth Games before returning to the United States to attend the Boston Marathon.
Josh participates in games of category T53 competitions that include anything from sprints to marathons. He has competed in Paralympic competitions since 2004, and from that time to the 2020 Paralympics, he has won five medals, including one gold, one silver, and three bronze.
Since tumbling out his bedroom window on the 12th floor when he was four years old, Josh has remained paralyzed from the mid-chest down. When George was seven years old, he began racing, but he didn’t take it seriously until his junior and senior years at Virginia’s Herndon High School. Basketball, track & field, archery, table tennis, and swimming were just a few of the sports he participated. George specialized in wheelchair racing at the University of Illinois.
Madison De Rozario Suffered From Transverse Myelitis
De Rozario was four years old when, during a flu episode, she got the rare inflammatory disease transverse myelitis. This neurological condition resulted in an inflammation of her spinal cord and left her paralyzed from the waist down.
De Rozario’s parents were resolved not to let her condition affect her, so the family created an environment where it was accepted as a fact of life rather than stigmatized. Moreover, born to a sports freak family, she was always encouraged to be physically active despite her condition.
Rozario struggled to adjust to her new body, and while she tried certain wheelchair sports to develop a feel for them, her efforts did not immediately bear fruit. She took part in wheelchair basketball and tennis competitions initially. Dubious about her success in that realm of sport, she switched to wheelchair racing in 2006.

However, the transition did not significantly increase her success rate, though. When her mother noticed her struggling with her race chair, she suggested quitting the activity, but De Rozario steadily persisted. After adamant persistence, she became the youngest Australian player to participate in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic at the age of 15.
The Paralympic athlete has proven to be a fierce competitor at many prestigious sporting events, including the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics, where she earned two gold, three silver, and one bronze medal. She brought home eleven medals from the Para Athletics Championships and three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.

Who Are Madison de Rozario’s Parents?
Madison de Rozario was born to her parents, whose name is not revealed yet, on November 24, 1993, in Perth. She is not a single child in her family. She has three sisters.

The athlete’s father is from Singapore, while her mother is from Australia. Rozario and her sisters were looked after by their stay-at-home father when they were young, as their mother was the family’s breadwinner, so she had to work for the essentials of the family.
