They settled in Wellington, Waterloo, but returned and spent some time in Malta. However, they returned to Australia in 1970 and bought a cottage in Banksia street, Botany, and the siblings went to attend Marist Brothers High School.

Stephen is a married man who walked down the aisle with the love of his life, Jo Fenech, in 1992.
The journalist celebrated 30 blissful years of marriage with his wife on the 21st of November 2022 and expressed how he wants to spend the next 30 years by her side through an Instagram post.
Fenech asked his better half out for the first time in 1987, and after five years of dating, they got married.
They have a son named Aaron Fenech and two daughters, Haylee Fenech and Jaci Fenech. Stephen and Jo welcomed Aaron in 1997, and he turned 25 on the 4th of March 2018. Jaci is 27 years old, born on the 21st of February 1995, and Haylee is 22, born on the 10th of August 2000.
