‘Weird’ Michael Elgin Arrested In Japan After He Stole Protein Powder
Elgin is a pro wrestler and former NEVER Openweight Champion. He is affiliated with some of the top wrestling associations in the world.
However, things got weird after Michael Elgin was arrested in Japan after he stole protein powder.
Elgin was recently on a trip to Japan for a wrestling match. On July 9, 2022, he was put in handcuffs after allegedly shoplifting protein powder.

It has come shocking to everyone why a world-renowned wrestler would do such things. Nonetheless, the alleged incident was reported by legitimate sources, and his absence in the July 10 match confirmed the reports.
Following the incident, Michael’s promotional team Pro Wrestling NOAH wrote, “[Notice of wrestler absence & change of match card] Michael Elgin, who was scheduled to participate in the Shizuoka event on Sunday, July 10, will be absent following the event on the 9th”

Michael Elgin Theft Charges – Not the First Arrest
Michael Elgin now faces theft charges in Japan.
It is speculated that Elgin is currently held in a Japanese jail for his crimes. He could face a sentence of up to 5 years if found guilty.
Otherwise, Michael could be banned from visiting Japan ever again. This happened to wrestler Matt Sydal after he was arrested for possession of marijuana in 2016.
This is not the first time Elgin is facing legal troubles. Just one year ago, the authorities arrested Elgin for violating a protection order. His ex-fiance reportedly filed the case.
However, the wrestler later denied all the claims. He alleged that his visit to the police station was a simple wellness check. Moreover, he claimed that he wouldn’t have gotten a Japanese visa with a criminal record.

Michael Elgin Net Worth – How Rich is he?
Michael Elgin’s net worth added millions of fortune during his career. However, his actual fortune is not disclosed.
Elgin was an early fighting star. He was already training to become a wrestler at 14 years old and made his professional debut at the age of 16 years old.
In 2005, Michael joined the Pure Wrestling Association. The same year, he made an appearance in the Ultimate Championship Wrestling. In 2006, he entered the Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South.
In 2007, Elgin made a debut in the Ring of Honor. The following year, he became the IWA Mid-South Strong Style champion.
Over the years, Michael fought in different parts of the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Eventually, he expanded his career beyond North America after he signed with Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2019.
He had recently teamed up in GHC Tag Team Championship in May of 2022. However, NOAH has removed Elgin from the GHC Tag Team Championship, and any future NOAH shows following his arrest.
