The shooter in the Fourth of July killing in Highland Park has been named as Robert Crimo III by Illinois authorities.
According to many accounts, Crimo, 22, was detained Monday evening. Following an hours-long manhunt, the person of interest in an attack in which six people were killed and several more was injured during an Independence Day celebration in Highland Park, a rich suburb of Chicago has been nabbed.

According to authorities, he is suspected of driving a 2010 silver Honda Fit with the Illinois license plate DM80653. Investigators discovered a rifle at the location they suspect was used in the killings.
Crimo III posted a video on YouTube some eight months ago titled “Toy Soldier,” which is an animated cartoon in which a kid is seen messaging in class while Crimo raps “screw this planet.” It moves between pictures of a highly armed gunman entering a school and starting a fire, followed by an encounter with police outside. In the last shot, the gunman is shown lying in a puddle of blood.

According to WGN-TV, FBI detectives paid a visit to Crimo’s family house in Highwood, about a mile from the shooting scene. Moreover, decoding all the details accumulated, Crimo is not married and therefore has no children yet.
According to the report, the agents were at the residence for about an hour. FBI agents have been seen leaving the suspect’s home and driveway.
According to neighbors, Robert Crimo III, his father, and his uncle live there. The identity of Crimo’s parents has not yet been revealed, but it is rumored that Crimo’s father ran for mayor of Highland Park in 2019.

A neighbor who sought anonymity told The Daily Beast, “The family’s been in the area for a long time.” She added, “We don’t know him, but we see him riding around the neighborhood. We never had any interaction with him, other than we just saw him driving around.”

Robert Crimo goes by the moniker Awake The Rapper, and his Youtube channel has teemed with violent and gory images.
His social media footprint revealed that he enjoys video games and follows professional wrestling. In one shot, he was wearing a Trump flag as a cape, while in another, he was sporting an FBI cap. However, the same user loved a video of President Biden.

Crimo’s Instagram account features multiple black-and-white photographs of him with a tattoo of the number on one side of his temple and the phrase “Awake” over one of his brows.
He also looks to have five hatch marks beneath his eye. with the number 47 tattooed near his right eye. The number is contentious since organizations have previously used it to symbolize the Nazi insignia.
